DENVER—Police say an Internet release of a Colorado law enforcement database may have placed confidential informants in danger.
Mesa County sheriff’s deputies are sifting through the database—mistakenly posted on an unsecured computer server in April—to determine who, if anyone, might be in jeopardy.
The database contains information gathered by deputies since 1989. It contains 200,000 names and investigative files from a local drug task force.
