The Southwest Early College, 3001 S. Federal Boulevard, is on lockdown because of a reported threat in a nearby neighborhood, according to principal Scott Rubin.
Rubin said that the lockdown was imposed about 11 a.m. at the request of the Denver Police Department.
However, Lt. Matt Murray, Denver police spokesman, said that there is no Denver police activity in the area.
Rubin said that classes at the charter school are continuing. He said the situation will be re-evaluated at 3 p.m. The school teaches children in grades 9 through 12.Howard Pankratz: 303-954-1939 or hpankratz@denverpost.com.
