Pitkin County authorities have suspended the search for 28-year-old George Aldrich, the Snowmass Ski Area employee missing for two weeks.
Officials said at a news conference Friday that they would continue to pursue leads and reinstate a ground search, if necessary, according to the Aspen Times.
Sheriff’s spokesman Alex Burchetta said searchers had exhausted logical locations in more than 25 missions.
Aldrich moved to the area about six weeks ago from Rhode Island. He was reported missing after he did not show up for work as a ski lift operator on Nov. 29. He was last seen about 10:30 p.m. Nov. 27, when he missed his bus stop and told others on the bus he planned to hitchhike back to Snowmass. He is 5 feet, 6 inches tall, about 140 pounds and has long, brown hair. He was last seen wearing a plaid winter coat.
