It seems appropriate that Midwest hip-hop duo The Cool Kids will act as the musical headliner for this weekend’s Winter Dew Tour stop in Breckenridge. For sure, all of the cool kids will be there.

That includes freeskiing stars Bobby Brown, Andreas Hatveit, Jossi Wells and Duncan Adams. And we can’t leave out snowboarding gurus JJ Thomas, Louie Vito, Scotty Lago and the flying Mitrani brothers. The women’s talent pool runs just as deep. Wrap them all up in a three-day package of superpipe and slopestyle contests, toss in some live music, festival village and a major Breckenridge party scene, and the outcome is one of the coolest winter weekend scenes this side of the polar ice cap.

On-snow action gets underway with qualifying Friday, followed by halfpipe finals in Breck’s new 22-foot superpipe throughout the day Saturday (snowboarders in the morning, skiers in the afternoon). Sunday is dedicated to slopestyle. Oh, and The Cool Kids will be holding it down at the Riverwalk Center alongside The Knocks beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday.
