OK, here’s an idea: Everyone who bought a pair of shoes at the Foot Candy fashion show that Macy’s Cherry Creek hosted for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society should hoof it on over to Argonaut Liquors on Saturday for a wine tasting and book signing that also benefits the NMSS.
You’ll be mixing and mingling with a whole bunch of others who share your passion for funding MS research and patient services — a group that includes Denver author Cathie Beck. She’s donating a percentage from sales of her book, “Cheap Cabernet: A Friendship,” to the NMSS.
A finalist for the 2011 Better Life Award, Beck will be at Argonaut, 760 E. Colfax Ave., from 3 to 6 p.m. to autograph books while Julie Balistreri pours samples of her family’s wine. If you find one you like, buy it then because Argonaut will donate $5 from each Balistreri bottle sold to the NMSS.
Back to Foot Candy: Macy’s Cherry Creek hosts this annual showcase of footwear and fashion for the NMSS’s Colorado-Wyoming chapter, making it all the more fun by inviting several community leaders to join professional models on the runway.
This year’s guest mannequins included Newmont Mining’s Melissa Gustafson and her daughter, Emma; April Fullon, co-owner of Footers Catering; Kari Shrader, a member of the Walk MS committee; and chapter president Carrie Nolan.
Store manager Timothy Smith was there to welcome the 100 guests who paid a minimum $10 to enjoy Cline Wine and appetizers from Footers, spa services from the staff at Frizz Salon, shopping and the show.
This and that.
