CRAIG — Colorado health officials are reviewing proposals for Tri- State Generation and Transmission Association Inc. to cut emissions at a coal-fired plant in Craig.

Tri-State supports adding selective noncatalytic-reduction technology at its plant to help the state reduce haze around national parks and wilderness.

But environmental groups and Denver and Boulder counties propose adding selective catalytic-reduction technology, which could cut nitrogen- oxide emissions by 80 percent.
