NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Maryland offensive coordinator James Franklin is close to becoming Vanderbilt’s head coach, The Washington Post reported Tuesday.
Franklin, 38, would become the first African-American head coach of any sport at Vanderbilt. He would replace Robbie Caldwell, who was forced to resign Nov. 27 at the end of a 2-10 season.
