DENVER—The Colorado Public Utilities Commission plans a session on a request for records of meetings, discussions and correspondence over the last two years on a proposed transmission line in south-central Colorado.
The PUC has scheduled a status conference at 9 a.m. Monday on the request by Trinchera Ranch Holdings for the public records. Ranch owner Louis Bacon is challenging the power line proposed by Xcel Energy and Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association.
The line would cross Bacon’s ranch in the San Luis Valley.
Trinchera spokesman Cody Wertz calls the conference on the public records request “highly unusual.”
PUC spokesman Terry Bote (bow-tee) says the commissioners want to honor the request, but such a massive request for documents is unprecedented in the agency’s history.
