Dumb Friends League December discounts The Denver Dumb Friends League is offering waived and discounted adoption fees for cats and dogs through Dec. 31. Save $100 on the adoption of any adult cat or dog and 50 percent off the adoption fee for kittens and puppies. The fee includes spay/neuter surgery, initial vaccinations, a microchip ID implant, a 15-day health program and a free initial office visit with a participating veterinarian. Paper shredder After almost 11 years in business, Paper Talk is shuttering its doors before the new year. Everything — including greeting cards, stationery, invitations and gift wrap — is discounted 30 percent until Sunday. The discount increases to 50 percent Monday through Friday. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, but the store closes at 2 p.m. Christmas Eve. Starting Dec. 27, shoppers can save 50 percent to 75 percent, depending on what is left (the owners recommend calling first).
