CROWLEY, La. — A small plane carrying a group of skydivers crashed Saturday in south-central Louisiana, killing three people and injuring two others on board.

Acadia Parish sheriff’s Deputy Maxine Trahan said a pilot and four jumpers were aboard the single-engine plane.

Witnesses reported seeing the Cessna 182 take off about 2:30 p.m. Saturday from Le Gros Memorial Airport in Acadia Parish. FAA spokesman Lynn Lunsford said the plane was about 200 feet in the air when it lost power.
