LOS ANGELES — The University of Colorado women’s basketball team couldn’t provide enough offense in the second half and lost 68-54 to Southern California on Saturday.

CU (7-3) trailed 37-34 at halftime and stayed close to the Trojans (6-3) until about the midpoint of the second half as USC steadily increased its lead.

Wyoming 63, Wash. St. 43

LARAMIE — Hillary Carlson scored 25 points and Aubrey Vandiver added 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Cowgirls (7-3).

Carlson was 10-of-18 from the field for Wyoming, which led 37-23 at halftime.

Metro State 67, Regis 57

Cassondra Bratton scored 17 points to lead the Roadrunners.

Metro started the game on a 9-2 run, and Regis responded to cut its deficit to three twice, then Bratton and Jasmine Cervantes scored three straight layups to give the Roadrunners a 32-23 halftime edge. Metro then started the second half with a 23-10 run.

Colorado Mines 82, Chadron State 72

GOLDEN — The Orediggers shot almost 55 percent (17-of-31) in the first half while building a 51-37 halftime lead, then played good defense in the second half to prevent the Eagles from making a comeback.

Colorado Christian 87, Nebraska-Kearney 77

LAKEWOOD — Christina Whitelaw dominated in the paint for the Cougars, scoring 29 points and grabbing 15 rebounds — and made 15-of-20 free throws as CC kept the Lopers at bay in the second half.

Men

Air Force 63, Ark.-Pine Bluff 52

AIR FORCE ACADEMY — Michael Lyons scored a season-high 24 points to lead the Falcons (7-2) to their sixth win in seven games.

Air Force scored the first two baskets of the second half to take a 30-16 lead, but Arkansas-Pine Bluff (0-10) used six 3-pointers to go on a 20-6 run and tie it at 36-36 with 14:22 remaining. The Falcons responded with a 14-4 run.

Colorado Mines 82, Chadron St. 76

GOLDEN — Trevor Wages came off the bench to lead the Orediggers with 17 points and 10 rebounds and help Mines (9-0) stay unbeaten.

Metro State 58, Regis 43

Reggie Evans scored 15 points for the Roadrunners, and the Rangers’ 43 points were the fewest allowed by Metro since 2004.

Colorado Christian 75, Nebraska-Kearney 68

LAKEWOOD — Abram Ziemer scored 16 points, including two free throws with 1:13 left that gave the Cougars a 72-68 lead.
