CASTLE ROCK — A man accused of shooting his pregnant wife and engaging police in an 11-hour standoff Saturday faces charges of first-degree assault and domestic violence, police said.
Trenton Orendorf, 40, is accused of shooting Shannon Orendorf, 33, who neighbors said is three months pregnant. Police used tear gas to end the standoff, and its residual is hampering investigators.
Orendorf is being held at Douglas County Jail. Shannon Orendorf was in stable condition Monday at Sky Ridge Medical Center in Lone Tree.
