Several area restaurants are open for business on Christmas Day, including Parallel 17 in Uptown (), Q’s in Boulder (), and The Weber in Cherry Creek North (). Call around; many restaurants still have tables open.
Happy birthday, Barbara Billingsley
Never without her trademark pearls (in real life and in her most famous role as June Cleaver), Billingsley gained cult status with her type-twisting cameo as a jive-fluent passenger in the 1980 hit “Airplane.” Billingsley, who died in October, would be 95 today.

Ingredients
6 mint leaves
2 ounces gin
1/2 ounce lillet blanc
1/2 ounce lemon juice
1/4 ounce simple syrup
Directions
Muddle the mint in a mixing glass. Add the other ingredients. Shake with ice and strain into chilled cocktail glass. No garnish.
