Holiday house decorations are as diverse as the holiday traditions that unfold within them. One homeowner wants to make as many kids smile as he can. Another hopes that a lavish yard display will encourages passers-by to drop off nonperishable food donations for a worthy cause. And a third views decorations as a way to draw neighbors together. All of them rely on twinkle lights, glowing figurines, blow-up props and special effects to beam out their seasonal goodwill messages.
