Intermountain Resources’ lumber mill in Montrose will continue operating while the court-appointed receiver seeks a buyer.

Operations resumed in June, said Pat Donovan of Denver-based Cordes & Co. His company was appointed receiver to protect Intermountain Resources assets after it stopped operations in May.

The company experienced a significant decline in demand for its construction timber over the past two years, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

USDA officials and Colorado representatives met last week to determine contracts that would help the mill maintain operations and fulfill prior commitments to the Forest Service.
