DENVER—Big investments in commercial real estate in the Denver area have more than doubled this year compared with 2009.
The commercial real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield studied deals valued at more than $4.5 million and found that so far this year, investors have spent $1.01 billion on 54 office, retail and industrial properties, compared with $448 million spent in 30 transactions in 2009.
The Denver Post reports that the biggest deal to close so far this year was the sale this month of Granite Tower, a 561,691-square-foot office building on 18th Street. It sold for $149 million, or $265 a square foot, to KBS Real Estate Investment Trust II.
