The federal government will pay Colorado a $13.7 million “bonus” for aggressively enrolling children in Medicaid’s public health-insurance program.
Colorado had a 14 percent enrollment increase in its Child Health Plan Plus program during the fiscal year. It is one of 15 states sharing in the Obama administration’s $206 million bonus program to spur insuring the nation’s estimated 4.7 million children who are qualified for government-subsidized premiums.
Last year, the federal government awarded $75 million to 10 states.
