COLUMBUS, Ohio — Quarterback Terrelle Pryor and four Ohio State teammates suspended for the first five games of the 2011 season apologized Tuesday for selling championship rings and memorabilia and taking discounts from a tattoo parlor.

“I didn’t mean to hurt nobody at all, and I didn’t mean to bring anything down or embarrassment to our university because this is the greatest university in the nation,” Pryor said.

Pryor, along with starting tailback Dan Herron, wide receiver DeVier Posey and offensive tackle Mike Adams, and backup defensive lineman Solomon Thomas, said they regretted their actions, which go back two years.

Kennedy joining CU staff.

Texas receivers coach Bobby Kennedy, a Boulder High and Northern Colorado graduate, is leaving the Longhorns to coach the same position at Colorado, a source close to the CU program said.

Kennedy played quarterback at UNC from 1985-88 and graduated in 1989 before launching a 21-year coaching career.

He coached at Texas the last seven years. Under Kennedy, Jordan Shipley made first-team All-American in 2009 after setting single-season school records of 116 receptions and 1,485 yards.

Kennedy is familiar with Colorado’s new Pac-12 Conference as he coached wide receivers at Washington from 2002-03 and running backs at Arizona in 2001. He also served as an assistant at Wake Forest, Wyoming, Penn State and Illinois.
