DENVER—A winter storm could dump another 1 to 2 feet of snow in Colorado’s mountains—and this time the Denver area likely won’t escape some of the brunt.
The National Weather Service says a storm that moved into the state Wednesday is expected to bring up to a foot of snow to the southwest Colorado mountains and high winds could reduce visibility, making driving difficult.
The weather service is forecasting widespread snow in western Colorado, where up to 2 feet of snow could fall by Friday. Light snow was falling early Wednesday afternoon but no traffic problems were reported.
The Denver area hasn’t received snow from the recent storms, but that likely will change this week. There’s a high chance of snow Thursday and temperatures are set to plunge below zero.
