The driver of a semi carrying mail has died in southern Colorado after a trailer cut loose from a truck on Interstate 25 and slammed into the semi’s cab.
After the crash Wednesday night, a small grass fire started on the east side of the interstate.
The driver’s name wasn’t released.
The Colorado State Patrol said the accident happened about 8:25 p.m. just south of the El Paso-Pueblo county line. The patrol said a flatbed trailer being pulled by a southbound truck became separated and went across the center median into the northbound lanes.
