A Greeley woman charged with egging on a fight among juvenile girls at a local park in August will spend the next year on probation for the crime.

Chantel Gallegos, 22, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor engaging in a riot and disorderly conduct, a petty offense, for being a part of an Aug. 28 fight at Glenmere Park.

She took a plea deal to settle her case. She was sentenced Tuesday to the year of probation.

A female jogger who passed by said two girls were fighting and others were surrounding them and urging them on. She said she told the group to stop and tried to call police when she was attacked by a 17-year-old girl.

Someone involved in the fight took video of it and posted it on YouTube.

It was through that YouTube video that Gallegos and Clarissa Rangel, 33, of Greeley, the only two adults, were identified. There were five juveniles involved but their names were not released because of their age.
