Commerce City Police and Colorado State Patrol released a joint statement tonight confirming that Andrew Terry, the suspect involved in a Tuesday night pursuit, was wounded during the chase.

The wound was described as superficial.

Terry, who lead the 30-minute chase across the north metro area Tuesday after running over an officer’s foot, is being held in the Adams County Jail, his bond set at $1 million.

Tuesday night, a Thornton officer was attempting to contact a suspected drunk driver near 128th Ave. and Quebec St., according to the release. During the contact, the suspect fled, running over the officer’s foot.

Colorado State Patrol troopers responding to the area to help, observed the suspect’s vehicle near 104th Ave. and Highway 85.

Troopers finally stopped Terry’s truck in the 9700 block of Steele Street in Thornton, using a “PIT maneuver.”

There was a struggle between the troopers and the suspect when he tried to resist arrest.

One trooper sustained minor injuries and the second trooper moderate injuries, but both have been treated and released. The Thornton officer who initially contacted Terry was also treated and released.

According to the release, multiple shots were fired by both Commerce City Police officers and CSP troopers. Terry suffered a “superficial gunshot wound during “the course of the incident.”

He was treated at a local hospital Tuesday before authorities took him into custody later that night, officials said.

The chase remains under investigation.
