DENVER — A Denver day-care operator will face a felony charge of child abuse resulting in death in connection with the death of a 17-month-old boy in November.
The baby, Jeremiah Saunders, had been at Dammi Seneviratne’s day care at 4332 Ceylon St. on Nov. 4.
The criminal charge alleges Seneviratne left the child unattended.
The Denver coroner reported the boy died of “asphyxia” from strangulation by a toy made of beads and wire.
