DENVER—The wife of state Sen. Al White has been appointed to take her husband’s seat when he joins Gov.-elect John Hickenlooper’s staff as state tourism director.
Senate Minority Leader Mike Kopp announced Jean White’s appointment Monday. He says she has more than two decades of experience running ski shops, a mountain lodge and other businesses with her husband.
Al White, a Republican from Hayden, will head the Colorado Tourism Office. He served eight years in the state House before he was elected to the Senate two years ago.
Hickenlooper will take office Jan. 11.
