LOGANSPORT, W.Va.—A Colorado company says it’s going to build a natural-gas processing plant in Marion County.
Markwest Liberty Midsteam & Resources announced plans for the plant Tuesday. The company says it would be capable of processing 120 million cubic feet of gas a day. The project also includes a pipeline to ship liquid natural gas.
The project is the latest aimed at taking advantage of new production from the Marcellus shale, which holds trillions of cubic feet of natural gas deep below parts of New York, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
Markwest Liberty is a partnership between gas developer Markwest Energy and investment firm The Energy & Minerals Group.
