The death of a woman whose body was found Sunday night in Edgewater has been ruled a homicide.
According to a news release, Edgewater officers were called to 2608 Kendall St. shortly before midnight to check on a report of a possible dead body inside an apartment.
Apartment maintenance workers told police they entered the apartment to check on a possible broken water pipe. The workers found a body and called 911.
The Jefferson County Coroners office has determined that the cause of death was homicide.
At this time, Edgewater Police Department is not releasing the name of the victim pending notification of relatives.
