NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vince Young’s days with the Titans are over.
The Titans said they plan to release the quarterback if they can’t trade him. The decision also means Jeff Fisher is expected to remain the coach in 2011, the final year of his contract, although no decision has been made.
“We have two critical decisions to make, the direction of the coaching staff and the future at the quarterback position. They are separate issues,” owner Bud Adams said.
Young, the third overall pick in the 2006 draft, is 30-17 in his five NFL seasons, but only 13-14 against teams finishing a season at .500 or better.
