DENVER—Colorado Avalanche forward Chris Stewart is participating in drills with teammates after breaking his hand during an on-ice skirmish in late November.

Stewart joined the morning skate in Denver Thursday as the Avalanche got ready to host the Phoenix Coyotes.

Avs coach Joe Sacco said there remains no timetable for Stewart’s return. He still has some restrictions.

Stewart, one of the team’s top scorers, broke his left hand in a second-period fight with Minnesota’s Kyle Brodziak on Nov. 27 and was expected to be out four-to-six weeks.

The physical forward has 11 goals this season.

Sacco also said that Kyle Cumiskey has been cleared to practice with the team. The defenseman has missed the last 29 games with a concussion.
