A 2-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital Thursday after search crews found him partially under ice in the Arkansas River.
An exhaustive search for the boy ended when he was found about eight-tenths of a mile downstream from his house on the Arkansas River, said Sgt. Don Pinover with the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office.
The boy was “not talking or moving or crying” when rescuers pulled him from the river, Pinover said. His condition was not available late Thursday, although Pinover said he was being treated at the hospital.
The boy’s parents called 911 at 3:20 p.m. Thursday and said he had been missing for up to 40 minutes from their front yard on Raynolds Avenue, which sits about 200 feet from the banks of the Arkansas River.A deputy found the boy at 4:42 p.m. on the opposite side of the river from his house.
