Snowshoe at Beaver Creek.
The Beaver Creek Snowshoe Adventure Series draws first-time snowshoers, world-class snowshoe athletes and kids of all ages. Each event within the series includes the East West Resorts 5K Quest, Dogma Athletica 10K and a Kids 1K. The first race of the series will be today. Winter biking.
The Winter Mountain Bike Series will take place in Leadville on Jan. 22, Feb. 19 and March 5. The races use groomed nordic ski and snowmobile trails and are a great offseason opportunity to get back on your bike. Cost is $20 per race.
Ski fest for women.
Keystone will host Betty Fest on Jan. 22-23. The event brings women together for two days of skiing and riding in a fun, supportive environment. On-hill training on Keystone’s Ski and Ride School’s trails, video analysis and discussions about nutrition, women-specific concerns and equipment will be available. Crane Festival.
The Monte Vista Crane Festival will be March 11-13. Visitors can view hundreds of cranes spending their “spring break” in the surrounding fields. Workshops, including photography and field sketching, will be available, as well as a pancake breakfast, a craft fair and educational talks. or 719-852-3552
