A U.S. official says there is no indication that a woman reportedly arrested for espionage in Iran is an American citizen, fueling doubts about Iranian media reports.
The official said Friday that a search of passport and other records could not find a match for the name Hall Talaian or variations of it. That is the name given for the alleged spy in Iranian media reports. Hall was reported to be a 55-year-old American who was arrested by Iranian authorities last week while trying to enter Iran from Armenia.
