State Senate President Brandon Shaffer today called for the chief executive and other leaders of Pinnacol Assurance to step down.

The Longmont Democrat cited the recent release of travel records showing lavish travel and expenses by board members of the quasi-government agency that provides workers compensation.

“The culture at Pinnacol must change and that will only occur with changes at the top. (Chief executive) Ken Ross and these board members should resign immediately,” Shaffer said in a news release.
