COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Authorities are hoping to appeal to the good nature of two men suspected of burglarizing homes in the Black Forest area and coax them into returning an urn containing the cremated remains of a homeowner’s spouse.
The El Paso County sheriff’s office tells The Gazette that the urn was taken from the home north of Colorado Springs while the person was at church Sunday. Authorities suspect two men seen driving a silver Honda Pilot reported stolen in Colorado Springs last week.
The sheriff’s office says the SUV was seen at homes where burglaries were reported.
Authorities are asking that the urn be left at a fire station or other public location, no questions asked.
