MANKATO, Minn. — Kyle Ostrow’s power-play goal with 1:16 to play gave sixth-ranked Denver a 4-4 tie with Minnesota State on Friday.
Phil Cook made two saves in overtime for MSUM (10-8-5, 4-8-3 WCHA). Sam Brittain stopped the only OT shot he faced for the Pioneers (13-5-5, 9-3-2). Cook finished with 24 saves, Brittain with 26.
Justin Jokinen, Chase Grant, Channing Boe and Eli Zuck scored for the Mavericks. Grant also had an assist and Rylan Galiardi assisted on two goals.
Jason Zucker and Anthony Maiani had a goal and assist apiece for Denver.
The Pioneers remain one point behind North Dakota and Minnesota-Duluth in the WCHA.
In other WCHA action Friday night, Minnesota defeated rival North Dakota 3-2 in Grand Forks, N.D.
