Cliff Smith and Jamie Shewchuk each scored two goals and Brian Langtry had three assists to lead the Colorado Mammoth over the Roughnecks 8-7 in a Natinal Lacrosse League matchup in Calgary on Saturday night.
The Roughnecks had 61 shots on goal compared with 33 by Colorado, but Mammoth goalie Chris Levis made 54 saves.
Adams State’s Huffer hits stride.
Adams State sophomore Craig Huffer ran the fastest collegiate 3,000-meter time in the nation this season, in any division, at the University of New Mexico Lobo Open in Albuquerque on Saturday.
Huffer’s altitude-adjusted time of 8:00.10 is faster than the best mark in Division I this season, owned by Michael Hammond of Virginia Tech, whose time of 8:13.67 at the Appalachian Invitational on Dec. 3 converted to 8:07.35 at sea-level.
