PARIS — Marine le Pen took over the reins of France’s far-right National Front from her father, Jean- Marie, on Sunday, making no secret of her presidential ambitions in her first speech to delegates after being elected party leader.
Marine le Pen, 42, a lawyer, presented the party as an alternative for all those who wanted a tougher approach to law and order and an exit from the European Union. She also came out strongly against Muslim immigration.
