The University of Colorado announced Tuesday that David Ikenberry — an associate dean in the business school at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign — has been named dean of Boulder’s Leeds School of Business.
Ikenberry is expected to begin the job Feb. 14. CU netted Ikenberry during a national search after Dennis Ahlburg left the university in 2009 to become president of Trinity University in San Antonio. Manuel Laguna has been serving as interim dean.
In a statement, CU Provost Russell Moore said the search panel was impressed with Ikenberry’s leadership at Illinois and his excellence in the classroom as a professor. In 2002, Business Week named him one of the best instructors in the nation.
