U.S. 6 over Loveland Pass remains closed near Silver Plume after a multi-vehicle accident and a bank-slide obstructed the road, but U.S. 285 is reopen on Kenosha Pass after high winds and low visibility closed it earlier this evening, authorities said.

The State Patrol said a semi-truck jackknifed across U.S. 6 this afternoon, and that a car was hanging over the road’s edge, but it was unknown if anyone was hurt.

Colorado Department of Transportation spokeswoman Stacey Stegman said there had been a “small bank slide,” caused by heavy snow accumulation and that the road is icy, with high blowing winds.

Stegman said the pass would stay closed while crews clear the road, but that drifting snow might impede those efforts.
