NEW YORK — Cocoa prices are surging after a one-month export ban was imposed in the Ivory Coast, where there is an escalating struggle for control of the government.

Cocoa settled up about 4 percent at $3,312 per metric ton Monday after climbing as high as $3,393 per metric ton earlier in the day.
