
Family and friends of a man who was fatally shot in Denver this past weekend are holding a candlelight vigil.
Quentin Smith, 21, of Denver, was shot multiple times early Saturday morning as he stood in a front yard in northeast Denver, police said.
Smith graduated from East High School in 2007. He worked at a King Soopers on East 14th Avenue and Krameria Street for two years before being transferred to the store at East 29th Avenue and Quebec Street, a family member said in an e-mail.
Smith was working and going to school at the time of his death.
The shooting happened at about 1:10 a.m. Saturday near East 36th Avenue and Pontiac Street.
Someone inside a vehicle shot Smith multiple times and the vehicle fled the scene, police said.
Family said the vigil will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday at East High School, 1600 City Park Esplanade.
Denver police have not released a description of the vehicle or a possible motive in the fatal shooting.
The shooter remains at large.
