New garden takes root

Anythink Perl Mack — the newly renovated library near Pecos Street and West 76th Avenue that’s reopening this spring — also will be the site of a new community garden. Library officials and Denver Urban Gardens will host a meeting about the project on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Valley Vista United Methodist Church, 1200 El Paso Blvd. Aspiring community gardeners can learn how to participate. “Gardening With a Purpose”

Suzi McCoy, founder and president of a leading public relations firm focused on the green-living industry, will be the guest lecturer on Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. at the Denver Botanic Gardens.
