OGDEN, Utah — Scott Bamforth hit a contested shot from just inside the half-court line as time expired, giving Weber State a 72-71 win over Northern Colorado on Saturday.

Devon Beitzel finished with a game-high 29 points for Northern Colorado (11-8, 7-1 Big Sky Conference), including a pair of go-ahead free throws with 2.4 seconds remaining. But Bamforth’s answered 3-point prayer snapped the Bears’ seven-game winning streak.

UNC beat Weber State 65-46 in Greeley, on Jan. 22.

Metro State 57, Mesa State 54

With just 4.6 seconds remaining in the game, Reggie Evans hit two free throws to give the host Roadrunners (16-3, 13-2 RMAC) a win over the Mavericks (12-7, 8-7).

Regis 68, Western State 51

Curtis Mitchell scored 23 points for the Rangers (6-13, 3-12 RMAC), while Weylan Towns led the Mountaineers (5-15, 4-11) with 12 points.

Colo. Mines 72, Neb.-Kearney 67

KEARNEY, Neb. — Three Ore- diggers (16-3, 12-3 RMAC) reached double figures in scoring, including Trevor Wages, who led with 17 points in a win over the Lopers (8-11, 6-9).

Colorado Christian 58, Chadron State 53

CHADRON, Neb. — Rye Olson’s 14 points led four Cougars (5-13, 4-11 RMAC) in double figures in a win over the Eagles (6-13, 4-11).

Northern Colorado 67, Weber State 49

GREELEY — D’shara Strange scored a career-best 19 points as the Bears (12-9, 7-1 Big Sky) won their 10th straight home game. The win over the Wildcats (5-13, 1-5) combined with Montana State’s one-point loss to Montana moved Northern Colorado into the top spot in the Big Sky standings for the first time in history.

Denver 86, North Texas 67

With a career-high 27 points from Brianna Culberson and the fourth double- double of the season from Kaetlyn Murdoch (19 points, 16 rebounds), the host Pioneers (13-8, 5-3 Sun Belt) routed the Mean Green (5-18, 2-8).

Air Force 60, TCU 55

AIR FORCE ACADEMY — After trailing by 11 points at halftime, the Falcons (7-13, 2-5 MWC) rallied and outscored the Horned Frogs (14-8, 6-2) 40-24 in the second half for the win.

It was the first victory over TCU for Air Force since 1988.

Colorado State 53, Utah 48

FORT COLLINS — The Rams (11-9, 4-3 MWC) bounced back after scoring 14 points in the first half, putting up 39 in the second half to defeat the Utes (10-11, 3-4) for the first time since 2003.

Wyoming 59, San Diego State 51

LARAMIE — Aubrey Vandiver was one of four Cowgirls (16-4, 6-1) to score in double digits, finishing with 20 points and 10 rebounds as Wyoming beat the Aztecs (8-11, 2-5) for its fourth straight MWC win.

Metro State 66, Mesa State 53

Alyssa Benson scored a career-high 24 points off the bench as the Roadrunners (18-1, 14-1 RMAC) won their third straight game. Metro State’s bench outscored the Mavericks (12-7, 9-6) 36-12.

Chadron State 61, Colorado Christian 59

CHADRON, Neb. — Christina Whitelaw scored 14 and Brittany Long added 13, but it wasn’t enough as the Cougars (13-4, 12-3 RMAC) lost to the Eagles (5-14, 3-12).
