DENVER—Colorado’s mountain bikers could see more single-track under a bill up for review in the state Legislature.

A Senate committee starts work Monday on a bill that would waive liability for landowners who build mountain-biking trails. The measure would shield landowners from liability for any injuries suffered by mountain bikers on their land.

Some say the change could make landowners more willing to allow trails through their property. Sponsors hope Senate Bill 36 could also promote outdoor tourism.
