BOULDER, Colo.—Extremely cold weather is causing the closure of schools in Boulder Valley, St. Vrain Valley and Adams 12 for the second straight today.

The Boulder Daily Camera reports the closures Wednesday come as the low temperatures for the morning are expected to be as cold as 22 below zero.

District offices will be closed and classes and all activities are canceled.

School officials say the decision was made as a safety precaution. The schools are expected to reopen Thursday.
