PT Pukuafu Indah, a company controlled by Merukh Enterprises in Indonesia, said it didn’t breach terms of a $300 million loan from its partner Newmont Mining Corp. after it was sued in Singapore.
Newmont Indonesia Ltd. and NVL (USA) Ltd., units of the Greenwood Village-based gold producer, sued six members of Merukh’s family and Pukuafu in a bid to get legal proceedings against Newmont in Jakarta dropped as agreed under the loan, according to papers filed with the Singa pore High Court.
