A 45-year-old Denver woman is charged with being a prostitute even though she knew she had had AIDS.
Frances Woodke is being held on $75,000 bond in the Denver County Jail, charged with misdemeanors charges of prostitution and solicitation for prostitution, as well as a felony, prostitution with knowledge of AIDS.
The Denver District Attorney’s Office said Woodke was arrested on suspicion of soliciting for prostitution on last week in the 1400 block of north Elizabeth Street. Prosecutors said she has known for years that she has AIDS.
Records show she has been arrested numerous times, including several prostitution arrests beginning in 1994. Woodke pleaded guilty in 2000 and 2008 to attempted prostitution with knowledge of AIDS.
