The few Greyhound bus passengers still stuck in Denver this morning will be back on the road again soon as almost all bus routes return to their normal schedules.

More than 100 Greyhound bus passengers were left at the terminal on 19th Street yesterday as severe weather in the Midwest caused major delays for eastbound buses, according to Greyhound spokeswoman Maureen Richmond.

As weather improved and roads opened, Greyhound was able to re-route several stranded buses toward St. Louis, Omaha, Kansas City and Dallas. Passengers were warned they might experience further delays at those locations.

The Mile High Red Cross provided cots, blankets and food for about 25 passengers who could not or chose not to be rerouted last night, according to Red Cross spokesman Jim Rettew. Greyhound asked the Red Cross to leave the cots and blankets at the station for tonight, but they are not asking for any additional supplies.

Greyhound also provided hotel and meal vouchers.

Around 9 this morning buses will leave for areas such as Chicago, Wisconsin and Michigan. Some of the passengers traveling to these areas have been stranded in Denver since Monday morning.

The only bus route not open this morning is for Albuquerque, N.M., Richmond said.

Passengers can go to Greyhound’s website, and click on the “service alert” tab, or call 1-800-231-2222 to check on the status of their bus.
