Weld County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a body that was found under a bridge near Lochbuie today.
Margie Martinez, spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office, said a county employee was inspecting the bridge near County Roads 4 and 53 today, one year after repairs had been made.
The employee found, “what appeared to be a body, and called the sheriff’s office,” she said. The body, found under the bridge, was frozen and covered in a blanket.
Investigators believe it is the body of an adult, but no gender has been identified. Because the body was frozen, an autopsy has not yet been scheduled.
Martinez said it is unknown how long the body was there.
No other information has been made available.
