Officials are looking for information about the owner of a Chihuahua puppy that was tossed from a sport utility vehicle and abandoned at a 7-Eleven in Colorado Springs.
A large, white SUV parked in front of the convenience store about 6:45 p.m. on Jan. 29. The driver opened the door, tossed the puppy out and drove away, according to a news release from the Humane Society of Pikes Peak Region Animal Services.
The puppy, dragging its leash behind it, tried to chase the SUV before a customer retrieved it.
The puppy is being cared for at a foster home and is unavailable for adoption.
