How much does it cost to buy a home in master-planned Lowry, with its 800 acres of parks, newly redesigned golf course, sports fields, and small-town shopping and dining over at Lowry Town Center? You could pay from $500,000 to a million for a custom home; or $300,000 to $500,000 for a production home – or you could check out a grand opening today, that could have you in a totally new condo, with a granite kitchen and stainless appliances, for $114,900.

When New Home Store re-priced Legends at Lowry into the low $100s two years ago after taking it over from a large builder, its remaining inventory of condos sold like hot cakes. That sent designers back to the drawing board to see if they could design some new 1-to-3-bedroom homes that could come in close to the same prices as the previous ones.

Today you can be first to see how that came out, as Legends opens two new model homes, and a host of larger plans, some ready for move-in — all of them with tile floors, a granite-tile kitchen, stainless appliances including microwave and fridge, even a washer and dryer.

“I’ve sold high-end homes where people would have to upgrade to get to this level of quality,” says Legends at Lowry community sales manager Andrea Sederberg, who’ll be on hand today with refreshments to show you the models; and the private pool and cabana that open this spring.

In addition to the home at $114,900 (not counting a grand-opening incentive if you use their preferred lender), you’re going to see some larger homes – some of them with attached garages — that will work for homeowners who are downsizing, wanting Lowry’s recreational amenities and proximity to downtown, along with low-maintenance living.

One of those is right upstairs from Sederberg’s model – a 2-bedroom raised-ranch; over 1,250 square feet with a wide kitchen-family area, a dining area set beneath a high atrium ceiling with clerestory windows, beside a large deck sized for eating outside. The entry is on the ground level beside an attached two-car garage with storage area and room for a shop. The master bath is five-piece – lots of tile, double-basin vanity – plus air conditioning.

The price is $209,900.

Renters, Sederberg adds, will be amazed how these prices translate into monthly payments, compared to what you may be paying now to rent. You’re going to see a wide range of size possibilities – including two-bedrooms-plus-den and even 3-bedroom-plus-dens, options for both attached and detached garages. The new models are off Lowry Boulevard at Dayton; take Lowry Boulevard east from Quebec Street, 1-1/2 miles to Dayton, then turn south and follow the signs.
